Born in a small midwestern town in Michigan;s Lower, Peninsula, Dick was raised with the simple, straight-forward lifestyle characteristics common to residents in that area. He quickly came to have a reverence for elements of natural beauty: woodland areas, clearwater lakes and streams, gently rolling terrain, and abundant stretches of agricultural fields.
Upon completion of his primary education, Dick decided to pursue an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture from Michigan State University, followed by a Master's Degree in LA from The University of Michigan, Dick was then able to begin his creativity-based career applying his acquired skills in design and illustration.
Connecting with a rapidly-growing design firm who's members specialized in creating international resorts, Dick was able to literally travel worldwide on their behalf Following these wonderful adventures and opportunities, Dick was then able to shift his growing skills into becoming a free-lance illustrator. Through this, he was able to serve a corporate-based client list for 15 years.
Now recently retired, Dick has finally been able to pursue his growing wish to apply his artistic proficiencies toward becoming a fine art watercolor artist. The artworks shown on this website are some of the products of his achievement toward that goal. We hope you enjoy viewing them.
